The Gaelic Club
In 1955 the INA Building in Devonshire St, Surry Hills was opened and in 1973 the Irish Gaelic Club was established on the first floor of the building. In the 70s and 80s the club attracted many talented musicians including Declan Affley, and the “Jimmies” McBride, Mullarkey and Philbin. The Gaelic Club is now a focal point for the Irish community and their friends, drawing in dancers, musicians and audiences. The club's Friday night trad sessions are a go to place for trad musicians from Ireland, Australia and other countries.
